Indoor only fixed cats will be close by hunkered down in fear. Look in bushes, under porches and decks, small spaces and sheds. If you look in the dark with a bright flashlight cat's eyes will glow when the light hits them. Wear reflective and bright clothing so cars can see you in the dark.

He has never been outside. We returned home from a week long vacation. Last confirmed video of him was Saturday morning, the 13th. We think he may have snuck out when the sitter was here

Make sure to also post on nextdoor dot com. It’s similar to Facebook but for your neighborhood. Has he ever been outside before? If not look everywhere that’s close to where he got out of your house. If yes then look in all of his favorite spots to visit. Speak with all neighbors. Ask if you or they can look in yards, under decks and porches, under tarp coveted items like wood piles or grills or long term parked vehicles, or in garages or sheds. Look at catsinthebag dot org for tips and tricks. Go outside and use whatever he comes running to when you’re inside with him. Treats, toys, food, whatever he likes. He could be very close so look everywhere. Keep in mind his instincts will tell him to stay quiet and still. That’s so he does not draw the attention of a predator. That’s why you must be very thorough when you look. You could be standing right next to his hiding space and he might not make a move or even meow. Also let all area veterinarians know that he is missing. That way if a good Samaritan finds him and brings him in someone knows that he’s being looked for. Speak with your mail carrier. They’re walking all over the place all the time so they might have seen him. Stay up late at night near your front door. He might come home on his own and you don’t know because you’ll be asleep. Open up your windows. He knows what Home smells like. If somebody wears a perfume or clone daily, make sure to spread it leading up to your front porch. Leave dirty laundry around outside of your house. That includes socks, towels, T-shirts, bedsheets, and even dirty underwear if you have a discreet place to hide those where he can smell them. I never recommend for anybody to leave a litter box out, however, if you are there to watch it every minute that it’s outside, it might be okay. Leaving a litter box outside unattended will attract the attention of any other animal in the area who will be curious about the new cat smell. That’s why you must not leave it unattended. If you try to use a live trap, you must also do the same thing. Never leave it unattended. You don’t want an animal in there longer than they need to be, and you want to make sure that nobody’s going to steal it. If you do use a live trap, you want to cover it with a towel or a blanket from inside, because it is a smell that he is familiar with. Your best bet is lots of footwork. Walk around your neighborhood, talk with people, and call for him as if you’re inside. Try not to sound scared when you’re calling for him because sounding scared might get him to stay in his hiding space. Best of luck to you and I hope you are soon happily reunited with Stitch.
