Leave an attached garage door cracked open 24/7 just enough for him to creep under. They always circle back during the night if lights are low and it’s quiet meaning not people walking around searching outside.

Please file a lost cat report with Virginia Beach animal control. If the cat is chipped, make sure the registry has your current contact information. Check the shelter several times a week to see if your cat has been brought in. After 10 PM tonight go out on your yard with a bag of kitty treats and a flashlight. Walk around your yard shaking the kitty treats bag, and call your cat’s name. Use the flashlight to look in the bushes to see if you see your cat hiding. Print flyers with your cats picture and your contact information to take around to your neighbors. Ask them to call you if they see your cat. Ask them also if they’ve been in their shed outbuilding or garage since your cat went missing. Cats go in those places to hide and feel safe. If the door is closed where they’re hiding, they cannot get out, you cannot hear them calling unless you’re standing right next to the structure. Look under porch deck, and under any house that has an open crawlspace these are all the places that cats go to feel safe. Indoor cats usually don’t stray more than 5 to 7 houses from their own.
