Leave some of your laundry outside your home to help him find his way home by scent. Also leave a door, lower window, garage door cracked open enough for him to find a way back into the home. They normally try to get back inside the same way they got out. If he is scared, he may be moving at night when it is quieter and looking for a way back inside. Hope this helps 🙏Read More
How did that tiny guy get out ? Has he ever been outside before ?
Now we’ve had this rain. It will have washed away any scent trail.
So I would raise my garage door just enough for him to go under. Put food, water and unwashed clothing in there in case he comes home while you aren’t around. Turn a cardboard box on its side facing away from wind and rain. Put the same in the box, etc.
At this point I would be so concerned for a kitten, I’d put dirty socks or tshirts at the corners of my yard. Cats can smell from much farther away than humans. Poor little guy is probably really sorry he went outside.
When you walk your neighborhood looking for him, carry an open can of catfood or tuna he also may smell. He’s probably accustomed to eating several times a day. Call his name while you are walking.
It just occurred to me. Is he neutered yet. He may be old enough.
Many years ago I taped flyers to all neighbors front doors in all directions. I didn’t think of it until the 3rd day. Thats how I got her back. A neighbor about 5 doors down had her. They will bring the flyer inside. More likely to remember and they’ll have your phone number handy. Make a missing cat report with the shelter.
Mostly I think you have to keep looking right now until way into the night. He is not a match for outside.
Good luck. I hope to see a reunited post tomorrow.Read More
