Community-Oriented Flyer (No Reward) ✅ Best for: General public, animal lovers, helpful neighbors ✅ Goal: Spread awareness, recruit people who are already inclined to help ✅ Effective design: “LOST DOG” or “FOUND DOG” large and bold Clear photo Date & location Contact info ✅ Works because: The target audience cares already. 2. Bounty/Reward Flyer (With AMOUNT!) ✅ Best for: opportunists, people who have or saw the pet but didn’t act ✅ Goal: Motivate action from people who need a reason (money) to do the right thing ✅ Effective design: "$2-500 REWARD with the amount as the biggest text NOT LOST DOG NOT HAVE YOU SEEN ME Pet photo Large contact info ✅ Works because: What's in it for them.. Common Types of Lost Pet Owners Type 1: THE PASSIVE OWNER ▪️Typical level of search effort: Low. ▪️Passive owners tend to wait. Example: "My dog got out. Let me know if you see it." This type of owner: Does very little to look for their pet. Low sense of urgency. Expects the dog to return home or someone else to bring the dog back. Let’s the community do the work instead of organizing a search. Provides little or no useful information. May post once or twice a day, then stops posting after 2–3 days if the dog hasn't returned. May not follow up on sightings or recommendations. Slow to respond or no response in the comment section. Type 2: THE PANICKED OWNER Typical level of search effort: Emotional, low organization. ▪️Panicked owners care deeply but need direction. Some are teachable and will quickly change course with instruction. Others will continue with what eases their feelings, even if the tactics are not effective. Oftentimes have anxiety. Example: "My dog is missing! Please help! I'm freaking out!" This type of owner: Likely overwhelmed Emotional panic rather than strategic execution. Forgot to include the location. Forgot to include a picture. Forgot contact information. Doesn't know where to start. Loses valuable time during the critical first 24–72 hours because every decision is made in panic/ fight or flight. Type 3: THE ORGANIZED RECOVERY OWNER Typical level of search effort: Very high. Logical, organized, prioritizes which methods are first and quickly executes search tactics. ▪️Organized owners immediately shift into problem-solving mode and throw every available resource at recovering their pet. These owners operate much like law enforcement and search and rescue teams. Missing 24 hours What we have done: Nextdoor Ring Neighbors Petco Love Lost PawBoost Multiple Facebook groups Flyers up Please call or text 24/7 immediately with any sighting: (Phone Number) This type of owner: Organized from the start Understands that time matters. Has already started a coordinated recovery effort. Makes it easy for strangers to help. Responds quickly to sightings. Continues posting updates. Will usually print flyers, expand the search radius, and keep searching until there's an outcome. Uses every available resource instead of waiting for the phone to ring. Some owners start off as type 2 and move into type 3 as the search continues.

Please use keywords in your post. That way if rescue volunteers are looking for an owner your post will come up. Found color of dog Size of dog Breed of dog Male or female Unique spots on the dog City and state Major intersection. Your location should be first in your post!! The goal isn't to reach everyone in Arizona it's to reach the people in your immediate vicinity. Then bullet point format with details on the pet so people can quickly scan. Use lots of keywords at the bottom of your post. Put your phone number so people can quickly contact you if they see your pet Crop your photos: you want your dog as big as possible. Nice clear picture of the pet from the front And a second one from the side to show identifying markings. You have two seconds to grab people's attention you want to make it count. 0Cut the Walls furniture other dogs people the yard etc out of the photo. Just the pet.

Frenchies are gone in a hot second. Probably on your street or the next one over. Most of the time owners need a reward with the amount on their Flyers to get their French Bulldog back. Probably one or two out of 10 French bulldogs found are returned. The rest are kept. They're too valuable. Owners that wait to put a reward and show what the amount is often don't get their frenchy's back. Depends on if you live in a low income middle income or upper income neighborhood.

Still can't find your pet? 1. Have you posted 👉👉three times a day on next door AND Neighbors by ring? (NOT THE RING APP) 👉👉 Have you commented on your post two or three times to get it going? 👉👉 Have you continued to comment for a few days so everyone in your neighborhood to see it? Or did you just post and move on to post somewhere else? 2. Did you put a reward in the first sentence? 👉👉👉With the amount? 3. Did you put a reward AND your phone number plus ONE BIG CLEAR picture of your pet on all the garages on your street? And the one behind your house? If that didn't work... 4. Did you call all the veterinarians within 10 miles of you to see if A PET MATCHING YOUR PETS DESCRIPTION was brought in injured or deceased hit by a car? 5. Did you call the local police department and ask for dispatch and see if anyone reported a deceased pet matching yours description for dead animal pickup? 6. Did you crop everything out of the picture but your pet and put it on Petco love lost?
