Description

Parrotlet

Message from Finder

This adorable Parrotlet flew into our backyard on Easter Sunday afternoon! We were able to secure him in one of our vacant Catios (he flew in on his own) where we have provided him with food and water. He is friendly but cautious and we would love to reunite him with his owner asap. Our "hse of cats" is simply not optimal for a bird (who evidently is an escape artist) and they want their Catio back! Praying someone is looking for and/or recognizes him so he can go again!

We have a group of four or five parrots that live wild here in the canyon Heights area. I see them fly daily.

Thank you for asking and for your suggestions. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any bands :-( I will reach out to local vets this week for additional suggestions and/or to spread the word about him. It's hard to imagine someone isn't looking for this sweet guy to come home! Thanks again!

Leslye Erickson Thank you for the excellent information! We have him in a 6'x'6'x10' weatherized Catio all to himself where I've added a couple of dowels and hung a swing (he has plenty of space to fly and we can go in periodically and socialize with him). We monitor/control our felines closely so he cannot be intimidated or become injured by any of them (they do not have access to him). His appetite has been very good (we purchased recommended foods from pet store + served him fresh blue berries and a fresh bowl of water is with him 24/7). I am rather surprised given how clean/and alert he is, that he has not been claimed within the first 24 hours through standard/local social media communications, so I will be reaching out to local vets and possible fosters/rescues in the coming week because it won't be possible for us to keep him long term. Thanks again!
