Message from Owner

PLEASE HELP US BRING MIMI (MOMMA) HOME ❤️ Mimi is much more than a missing cat. She is a deeply loved member of our family, and we are heartbroken and worried sick about her. Mimi is a 10 to 12 year old, very thin black female cat who has always lived indoors. She has poor hearing and significant health problems that require daily , so finding her as soon as possible is extremely important. She disappeared on September 1 in the Willoughby area. Because she is an indoor only cat and unfamiliar with being outside, she may be frightened, hiding quietly, and may not come when called. Please check under decks and porches, inside garages and sheds, beneath bushes, around foundations, and anywhere a scared cat could squeeze into or hide. Even if you think you only caught a glimpse of a black cat, please let us know. A photo or video would be extremely helpful. Please DO NOT CHASE HER if you see her. Note the exact location and time and contact us immediately. $250 REWARD FOR HER SAFE RETURN. Please share this post, especially with anyone in the Willoughby area. Every set of eyes helps. We just want our Mimi home. ❤️

Put out something that she's familiar with that carries her scent (a bed, a blanket but NOT a litterbox). CALL FOR HER IN THE QUIET, STILL HOURS (11pm-7am). THIS IS SO IMPORTANT (5am seems to be the luckiest hour)!!!!!!! Scared cats move around while the rest of the world is still. Put out food in intervals (not at night) when you can keep an eye out. Talk to your neighbors, generally, they don't go far and find an open garage or shed to huddle down. If these suggestions don’t work: lost pet cats may not respond the way you’d expect your beloved kitty to and they may not just come to your calling so be prepared to have to use a humane trap (she will return to herself once she’s back inside) and put signs in your local pet store (if someone takes her in they will need litter and food). I hope you find her 🍀

Have you set a trap? I think you can rent one. She might be so,so scared just close to home. If you can sit outside after dark or early in the morning maybe she'll show up.😔

Place something personal like a favorite toy or blanket outside your door. Also food and water. Cats have a keen sense of smell. Your post has been shared
