Post on NextDoor. Place some articles of your unwashed clothing, shoes, and your dog’s bed for him/her to smell home. Leave a gate open. Post signs as soon as you can - a minimum of 30-50 signs in a 2 mile radius. Put “Do Not Chase” on the signs. Beware of scammers who will contact you and ask for money and/or a ‘code’. Also, ignore any comments telling you to go to a pet rescue/drone service on Instagram - another scam. If microchipped, notify the chip company that he/she is missing; update/confirm your contact info. Check and notify surrounding shelters (Pasadena Humane, San Gabriel Valley Humane, Baldwin Park shelter); leave flyers at each shelter. Take flyers to surrounding vet offices/ER vets where someone may take your dog for a chip scan.
