Please take him to any Vet fir chip scan, it’s free and no appointment needed. Go door to door but always ask proof of ownership if someone step forward, pictures. Post on Nextdoor and Rong. Scroll check all Lost cat posts on Pawboost at least few day back before you found him trough now and keep checking daily. Now all owners know this sites and some post them later. You might get a cat collar for the cat, tape a small note wrapped around the collar with your phone number, asking if the cat belongs to someone.

If you feel the cat is a stray or has been abandoned, you can call Trappers who will get the cat, have the cat spayed or neutered and return the cat to where it was found to live on the street as a community cat. It is a kindness to try to trap any ferals and/or strays that you see so that they do not continue to procreate. If an ear is “tipped” (tip removed) that means the cat has already been trapped, neutered and/or spayed and released back to the area from which it came. TNR (Trap, Neuter Return) is not an ideal solution but neutering and spaying prevents further litters of kittens born.
