I can understand if a dog 'escapes' in various ways, it has happened to us. What I really can't understand is why in heaven's name these dogs do not have either a chip, ID tag, or GPS tag. If they did, they would be returned to the owner quickly. Instead they end up at animal control and my never be adopted, but end up being euthanized. On the other hand, there are dogs that are intentionally allowed to roam with no one seeming to care. There is no understanding irresponsible pet owners. It's just so sad.

I honestly believe this dog and the black dog were rescued from the road several weeks ago and posted. A female owner did eventually come forward.

Why are there sooo many lost dogs??????? What is going on!!!!! Then they are sent to the Pound and get 72 hrs for their owners to figure it all out!!!!! Please help me understand?????

An owner actively looking for their dog would most likely call the Henderson County Shelter so please call to file a report there when they open. Hopefully the dog is microchipped with its owner’s current contact information.
