Found/Stray Dog in Fayetteville, AR 72701

This energetic boy was found directing traffic on S Shaeffer Rd. There were cars on the gravel road going both ways but they slowed down enough for me to get out of my car to make sure the dog was okay. I held out my hand to get acquainted and he sniffed me and let me pet him. My dog Scooby (shepherd mix) was in the backseat of my car and they became pals right away. The husky boy wanted to get in the car, so I let him. I wondered if he belonged to one of the nearby farms. I drove down the road, knocked on the nearest hse, and waited for an answer. I tried again and waited. No answer. I knocked a third time. No one showed up at the door. From there I took the husky mix to LocalVet Urgent Care on 2559 E Huntsville Rd in Fayetteville. The husky mix appeared to be in good condition according to Dr. Coffey. The only potential worry would be heartworms since the dog was breathing heavily. It is possible the dog was breathing heavily because of nerves. The vet recommended heartworm . I paid for the check-up and took my dog and the husky mix back home. I fed them separately, waited 30 minutes, and then took them both out to go potty before bedtime. If this dog belongs to somebody, I would hope to reunite him with his owner ASAP.
