Message from Owner

🚨 LOST DOG — PLEASE CHECK YARDS, SHEDS & HIDING PLACES — SOUTH SIDE INDY 🚨 Banta Rd & US-31 Our beloved mini schnauzer escaped on Thursday, February 5th around 4:00 PM near Banta Rd & US-31, and we are desperately searching for her. This happened while our family was out of town on a Make-A-Wish trip, supporting a loved one with a lifelong medical condition. We are absolutely devastated to return and realize she is missing during such an emotional time for our family. Description: • Black & white patches • Black face • Shy / timid • Wearing a maroon collar with a red & white polka-dotted HEART-shaped tag with a yellow bow • MICROCHIPPED Because she is very shy, she may be hiding silently in backyards, under decks, porches, sheds, bushes, crawlspaces, or wooded areas. She may not come when called. It’s also possible that a kind person picked her up thinking she was a stray, so please check with neighbors, friends, and family in case someone brought in a small black-and-white schnauzer for safety. 🙏 PLEASE: • Check your yards, sheds, grges, and hiding places • Look under porches, decks, bushes, and crawlspaces • Share this post — sightings truly save lives If seen, please do not chase. Call or text immediately with the exact location and direction of travel. 📍 Last seen: Banta Rd & US-31 (South Indianapolis) 📞 Contact: We are heartbroken and so grateful for every share, every search, and every set of eyes. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 💛

Help find your dogs Do: Wait patiently at the scene for as long as possible. Stay put so your dog can come back following your scent. “Let the dog come back to you.” When you must go home, take a dirty sock, t-shirt, or underwear that has been close to your skin and place them outside of your home. This is another scent lure. Set up a “meat trap” using odorous meats. This is done based on investigative work. For example, after a neighbor saw your dog running up a hill, the meat and water would be placed at the foot of the hill. Broadcast that your dog is missing using social media, posters, and word of mouth. Ask people to report sightings rather than attempt to retrieve your dog. She will be frightened and run away again. Use sighting reports to use scent based lures like clothing or food. Leave doors open so that your dog has a way to get inside when they return home. Do Not: Leave the scene and start searching for your dog. You are spreading your scent and making it more difficult for your dog to come back to you. Close up your house so your dog has no way of coming inside when they return. Chase your dog or yell their name. This will only drive them further
