Leave the garage door open a little and the door from the garage into the house ajar, so it can push it door open. Be sure to secure any other animals inside, into a secured room. My pet came in around 1:30 in the morning, so don’t close due to time. A flash light will also help to see their eyes in dark areas... under deck and under/behind bushes.
Call the police, in case someone reports seeing your pet. Also alert the vets and shelters, in case someone scans it for a chip.
I also left my number with some of the neighbors and they called me, seeing a similar pet or to find out if my boy was home yet... as to whether to keep watching.
