There is no appointment needed to take the dog to any Pet Emergency center or vet office to have scanned and there is no charge to do this. Please also know that if they say there is a chip, but it is not registered get all of the information anyway there are a few people I can reach out to who almost always can still reunite with the owner. Thank you for keeping the dog safe. Also, what’s worked in the past for me anyway put a leash on the dog go back to where you Found The Dog and say let’s go home and you’d be surprised how many dogs have led me right back to their home as well as put a simple sign up just simply saying Dog Found and your phone number. No description. let them call you a lot of people don’t have any clue how to find their lost pet other than driving around and looking for a sign and please also make sure you file a Found Dog report with Broward animal care and adoption that is required because again if someone is looking for their Pet, it shows you’ve done your due diligence to locate the owner again. Give the dog Nextgard for fleas and ticks. The rusty color is blood from fleas biting the poor dog You can go to a pet store buy Capstar for the dogs weight. Do that the first day and the next day do Nextgard for the dogs weight Post on local Nextdoor and go by a vets office and check for a microchip. That will show owner info
