Message from Owner

Lolly is very friendly but also very comfortable outdoors. He was born to stray parents and after surviving a coyote attack had surgery to fix his jaw and 2 broken teeth removed. He was becoming an indoor cat at our hse for a safer life and on the eve of going to the vet to get neutered and chipped, he slipped out an upstairs window.

Check early morning when cats come out to look for food. They go into hiding mode and seldom roam far. Check other times too.

Place an item of your unwashed clothing outside your front door so that if your sweet cat returns he will recognize your scent and feel safe! Do Not Leave Litter boxes outside! This will attract predators! I hope you will find your sweet cat very soon. Go around late at night in your neighborhood, around midnight and again between 3am and dawn, and call for your cat calmly! Look under bushes with a flashlight. Something nay have startled him. Especially since he hasn't been neutered yet, he may be wandering. Even still, he shouldn't go beyond a couple of blocks at most. Take along a bag of treats that have a high value smell, and crinkle or shake the open bag as you call his name. See if you can see any open garages or sheds where he could be hiding. Cats will often hide in the day, and be more active st night. Don't give up, especially after just a few nights of searching. Go out over many nights. Also, go door to door with a flyer with his photo and your phone number printed on it. Ask your neighbors to keep a look out, and ask if they can check their garage, or any shed they may have. Also, see if any neighbors have stored Ring Footage they may be willing to check so you can possibly determine the route your cat took when he disappeared. Check your local shelters daily just in case. Good luck.

Please post flyers in your neighborhood, for at least a 3-block radius, and walk the neighborhood in early morning and after dark; talk to your neighbors and any workers in the neighborhood, let everyone know he’s missing. Be relentless. Keep up the in-person shelter search as often they don’t post all intakes online/phone calls might yield inaccurate information... Post on PawBoost, CL, NextDoor, etc. Make sure chip info is updated. Most importantly, keep talking to him in your head, tell him he is so missed and you’re looking for him and please come home. Visualize your reunion constantly and put out positive energy 😊 I hope this all helps, it has worked for me in a seemingly impossible situation ❤️
