Give all details of your cat to the local postal sorting office and also to your own postman/postwoman. Posties are great as they go everywhere and see all. Good luck 🐈‍⬛

- [ ] The kitty is probably hiding close to home and scared. Call the kitty’s name softly morning noon and night. Late at night. Rattle a treats bag. Put out toys and food and water. Rig up a cat shelter - place articles of clothing and blankets that smell like home in the shelter. Posters work. Make posters and put them up everywhere with your phone number visibly on the poster. Ask for sightings. Don’t give up. Ask your neighbours if you could accompany them to check garages and sheds. He might be stuck somewhere.

A good list of things to do is on the Toronto Humane Society website, as well as (Click on the link www.catsinthebag.org itself.) Get signs up (not everyone uses fb, and the more eyes looking the better) and file a lost report with Toronto Animal Services and local shelters (and keep checking their listings). Make sure your microchip is registered, and your info is up to date with the company too. Shared. Note that two days is a long time to a cat, this is longer. If you have not yet done ALL these things, do them now. If you have do them again and go further in your search. Notify Toronto Animal Services and check their website(s) for found cats. Carefully check around your home and property, focusing on small, hidden spots like closets, dresser drawers and hidden nooks and crannies in garages, sheds, basement etc., as cats often hide nearby when scared. Search all nearby shrubs, bushes and trees, window wells, garages and sheds. Ask nearby neighbours to do the same. Alert local vet offices, rescues and shelters. If he's an intact male he may have gone a long way in search of females in heat and have trouble finding his way back home. Alert local feral cat feeders who may spot him searching for food. In case he may still come around. leave his used litter and some food and water in hidden places near the door he left and check this evening. See Pawboost for more ways to find and sample posters. Put a notice in nearby neighbours mailboxes, post on local notices boards, in community centres, churches and schools. Go out after dark bring food and treats, search a 5+ block radius, stop periodically and softly call but do not make any loud noises or sudden moves. Lost cats are terrified and do not recognize their owner as safe.

Go out around 2AM with smelly food or treats and call softly for him. Have neighbors check sheds and garages. Post lots of signs. Also a good idea to stick notes through your neighbour’s door or mailbox for them to check their properties.
