This is Smudge. She got out this morning in Shaganappi/ upper Scarboro. She is microchipped but does not have a collar on. Please help us get our sweet girl home.

Don't delay - go looking for her immediately. Check all shrubbery, decks, vehicles, sheds, garages (or ask your neighbours to check theirs). She could be hiding close by, frightened. Set out some item of unwashed clothing belonging to her favourite person, put of notices nearby, check with local vets, Animal Services, & if you can, leave a garage or other door &/or window open a little in case she returns home late. Go out in the evening, with a flashlight, treats in hand, & call her name softly, wait, repeat.

Rent or borrow a humane trap. The SPCA and other animal shelters rent them out for $100. When you return the trap you get your $100 back. Place the trap near where the cat escaped. Put some of the cat's favorite food and treats inside of the trap along with an article of your clothing with your scent on it. This method worked for me on two different occasions. If you trap the wrong cat or some other animal, put a blanket over the trap leaving the door exposed. Stand behind the trap and release the animal. Reset the trap. Time is of the essence so do this asap. Good luck and God bless.
