UPDATE: I feel a bit crazy reposting this but one of our neighbors said he saw our missing bird Dixie around 5:30 last night in a tree next to his driveway where Addison and Clove St intersect. By the time I got there about 15 min later, there was no sign of her. Two days ago we had found many of her feathers down the street in someone's yard (but no body, no blood) we assumed a predator had gotten to her but I have read about "fright molt" which is a sudden loss of feathers triggered by intense stress. Perhaps a fight but she somehow got away? So with this potential sighting last night, I'm choosing to follow this tiny sliver of hope that she may still be out there. If anyone sees her please snap a photo and let us know the location. Forever grateful for the help and prayers! 🙏
