When scared they hide incredibly well. Search under bushes, decks, porches, cars, and up in trees with a flashlight at dusk - eyes will glow. Move slowly and speak quietly shaking treats so as not to scare more. Put out scent items like cat's bedding or your unwashed socks. If possible put scent item in garage and leave for open just enough for cat to get in. GET A HUMANE TRAP. Put scent item and food in trap and monitor at least every 4 hours. KEEP SEARCHING and trying to trap! They hide very well! It took me 2 weeks to recover one that was just in my back yard (it would have been faster with a trap). Be sure to have neighbors check garages and sheds!
