yeah I have a cat too I had two other cats one and then I had to put one to sleep and the one I got now his name is pumpkin and he doesn't even go near the door I live upstairs but he doesn't even go near the door to go downstairs and nothing the first cat I had someone had him and they moved and they left in there when they left and he was neutered and the neighbors were feeding him and then finally one day he came up the driveway where I lived and that was it but he was an indoor outdoor cat so there for a while I'd let him out because he would constantly meow and let him out one day and he didn't come back and I was going up and down the neighborhood calling his name and someone must have found him and they took him to the vet cuz I guess they were going to keep him and when they found out he was mine they wanted $120 for me to get him back they showed me the vet bill so I gave him a hundred and they said that's good enough so I got my one cat back and I never ever ever ever ever let him get out again ever that was it he was in till he passed away but this cat I got don't even go near the door I'm so glad I don't like to have to sit and worry about what's happened to him and where he's at I hope you find your kitty πŸ˜₯πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Most lost cats come home/ are found between midnight-5 am so that’s a good time to look. Door to door with flyers in the area and flyers with nearby vets and shelters really helps. If sighted, It’s better not to chase, lost cats are even more skittish and spooked outside and will even run from their owners. If possible, it’s better to sit at ground level and talk in a normal voice, which will bring them closer to you. Even better, bring some food, smellier the better - tuna, shrimp, rotisserie chicken. If you can safely leave a door or window cracked open specially at night, the cat might walk back in. They can get locked by mistake in sheds garages and bats, ask neighbors to check and if they can leave doors open for a while. A frightened cat in hiding probably won’t come out when people are around.

Put smelly wet food outside, hav a hart traps work, check them often. At night shine a flashlight you may catch reflection of his eyes. Check shed, garages, under cars, anyplace he could hide or be stuck. Put up flyers, especially at vet offices. Talk to neighbors, ask if they have security cameras that may catch him walking by. They tend to move early morning and evenings. Put out used litter and fav humans worn clothes, familiar smells help bring them in. If possible, leave a patio or garage door open so he can get in. Contact rescues & county shelters, take a pic. Physically check county shelter often, they are busy. She will be very scared & may go into survival mode, she may not respond to you. Some wait until they're starving to come out for food. Keep food/trap out & check often. If you have another cat, try putting them outside in a SECURE carrier. Their meows may call the lost one in. Pray. Don't give up!
