Neutered, long fluffy orange hair

Message from Owner

Sun Ridge Farm neighborhood off highway 42 in south Raleigh/Garner area. Our long-hair orange cat (indoor only, neutered), Archie, bolted outside when the front door was opened yesterday and we’ve been unable to find him. He is microchipped and was wearing his collar at the time he ran out. We’ve walked the neighborhood extensively and will continue to do so. We’re hoping he’s just hiding near the hse but have not had any luck yet. Next door neighbors have been informed and I’ve cross-posted to several other communities/pages already. Please PM me with any info or possible sightings.

Where did you get this cat? He looks exactly like our cat that went missing?

Get a humane trap asap. That’s the best way to get them home fast. Be mindful however, when using the trap of other people’s pets and wildlife that might enter. Don’t let them stress in the trap. You can get a humane trap at most hardware stores or on Amazon. A local cat rescued or shelter might lend you one. In the meantime leave out food and water so doesn’t go in search of it, water always even when trapping. Usually cats are close by in a five house radius on either side. Post flyers and ask neighbors to check under decks, in garages, sheds and crawl spaces. Set up a ring camera and ask neighbors to check theirs. Try the open door trick. Secure other pets and leave the door open just a bit, especially in the early morning hours, so he can slip back in quietly on his own. Have a trail of good leading inside. This does often work well. But get that humane trap asap. Put wet food, or tuna in it. Make a trail of food leading into the trap. 🙏❤️

The effectiveness of signs posted quickly all around the area can not be overstated. Reaches those not on social media and lets neighbors know he/she's not a stray.
