Laurie Findlater please put out a live trap to catch the stray kitties. Then take them to a Veterinary clinic where they can be checked for a micro chip or tattoo. Animal Services will be notified and they will pick the kitty up. Much safer for kitties than living on the streets. There's so many coyotes - bobcats and fast cars. Plus our cold - 20 C weather.

Diana Sheprak yip. That's why people should lock them somewhere if doors are being opened. I put a laundry basket over my cat on Halloween before I open the door...and he's not even a bolter. I have met the bolters. They do bolt, when someone gives them an open door!! My cat also burst out of the plexiglass in his catio. We didn't bank on that. Fixed it though, and saved the roaming kitten that was in our yard...my cat was trying get to it, not for play, either. Cats. Sighs.

Shannon Clarke Well, I've had one or two sneak by me like the proverbial "bat outta hell." They were just temporary house guests, and the chase that ensued was usually won by the cat. They came back when they were hungry, or just plain ready. The magpies even helped me once. Ya, no lock picking - just devious and fast!

Sandra Berube they come back when they can. Too many hazards in the city to count on it though.

Diana Sheprak if cats are "escaping", they are still being "let out". They don't tunnel or pick locks, they get out when people provide them opportunities to get out. Someone "leaving the doors open" is not even attempting to keep their cat inside. It's our job to keep our pets safe. They rely on us.
