I’m sorry your baby is missing. Here are some tips to follow. Put out your dirty’s clothes and hang them high. Do not put out his bedding, food, litter box or water. It only attracts other animals. Make sure you leave open a door window 24/7, preferably the one he left from. Cats are creatures of habit. Have all of your neighbors, check their cameras, and let them know he is missing and what he looks like. Unlike dogs, most people do not notice loose cats and just assume they’re outdoor cats.
Put up signs in your neighborhood and post on your city Facebook and neighborhood pages. Also post on PawBoost. Call the local shelter, let them know that he is missing, a description and a way to reach you. If he is chipped, call the chip company and let them know he is missing and make sure your contact information is up-to-date. If he has not chipped, call all vets in the area in case someone brings him for a chip check.
When it is quiet, play meow sounds from YouTube. Play them for 30 seconds. Stop and listen. He may be meowing quietly as he may be just scared in the bushes or a neighbors yard. Cats often are afraid of their owners if they are scared. I hope he wanders home soon.
