Try filing a police report. Check the pound in person daily. Look on Craigslist for sale ads. Post on Next-Door app, Pawboost and Fb groups as well. Offer a reward. Leave something outside w your scrent on it. Make a Lost sign in your front yard w pets picture. Ask neighbors for their camera footage if possible. Hire a Lost pet PI or drone, be careful of scams. Check w the mailman and garbage man too.

Made for cats. Works for dogs. STEPS TO DO TO FIND A LOST CAT WITH OR W/O A MICROCHIP (The following steps with modifications can be applied to lost dog or other pet) 1. Visit in person your local Animal Control and ask to see for yourself all of the cats that have been picked up. Do not call and ask since most of these facilities are VERY BUSY and have different staff members working the phones at different times of the day. When you visit, ask if they have a bulletin board on which to place a lost flyer. Also, Animal Control keeps a log of deceased pets that are picked up. 2. Call your local newspaper and run a lost ad in the lost/found section for a minimum of a week. Keep the ad as short as possible to save $$$. 3. Make a flyer with your kitty's name, photo, and your contact info and distribute the flyers to neighbors in the hundred block on each side of your block as well as your own block. On your flyers for your neighborhood, ask your neighbors to check any sheds that they may have had opened on the date the cat became missing. Do not hang them on light posts because this is not legal and the City enforces it with a hefty monetary fine. Do not put them in the mail boxes as that is against the US Postal regulations. Use rubber bands and attach them to front door knobs. Check with the different copying services to see what they charge per copy if you do not want to use your own printer ink. You don't need a photo for the flyer. If you have one it's helpful and an eye catcher. 4. Check the web sites that show the photos of lost pets. In Midland, Animal Services (Control) keeps an update of animals that have been turned over to the service. DO NOT USE THIS AS THE ONLY WAY TO CHECK. Remember to go to Animal Control in person at least every other day. The Midland Reporter Telegram has a website (www.mywesttexas.com) on which they have a link called “lost pets”. 5. Don't forget to take flyers to each of the veterinary offices and to the local SPCAs/rescue shelters. They very often receive lost pets. 6. If your kitty is an indoor cat and they get out, they will usually hide someplace close to home out of fear. A pre-dawn/post dark walk calling your kitty may bring it out of hiding. Don’t forget about walking your alley and calling the kitty’s name. 7. If your kitty is an outdoor cat, something may have frightened it from its environment and it may be disoriented to the location of its home. A pre-dawn/post dark walk and call may help here too. Again, don’t forget about the alley. 8. Make use of any rescue emails in your area. If you're not aware of one, start one yourself by sending a picture, info, and contact numbers to your local email list asking each of those who receive it to send it on to others in the area. Stay focused on your search and don't give up. 9. There are rescue groups on Facebook. Some of them are Petspotters, MASA, Dust Bowl Animal Rescue, Lone Star Animal Sanctuary to name a few. If you “like” the page you can upload your kitty’s picture, description and, contact information. There’s no charge for this service. I think there is a way to pull up a list of all rescue groups so you can post on their pages. Or ask one group for the names of other groups. 10. If the kitty is an indoor kitty set its litter box outside so that he/she might be able to smell the familiarity. As always blessings and God’s speed in your search.
