I left a message on tbe Next Door post that I saw a calico cat crossing Fir Acres at 1314. 1340. The cat may live there, but I would knock on doors to check.

Also check Feline Good Animal Rescue in Lane county. They post pictures of cats they have trapped.

Cats usually don't travel very far—-maybe a block or two. They hide under homes or sheds during the day time. Go outside with a flashlight, especially at night and look under porches, house, sheds and nearby bushes. Think like a cat— look low, under shrubs, behind wood piles, and look for their eyes to glow in the light of a flashlight beam. Put their bedding outside the door they escaped from or some of the owner's dirty clothing. Do not put out litter box as they could attract other animals that may scare off your cat. Usually they will hide during the day and come out at night when it's quiet and safe. Leave the door or window they escaped from open and they will usually sneak back in. Leaving a trail of chicken broth or tuna juice from the yard back to the door helps too. Put flyers up within a two block radius. Ask neighbors to check in sheds and under porches.

You may have already, but post on Eugene and Springfield lost and found pets fb page. Mention location, cross streets. Also Next Door for non FB folks, go online and file report with Greenhill Humane Society. I found my girl knocking on neighbors doors. 🐾🙏🏻🐈‍⬛

Most indoor cats will stay very close to home, but they will go into hiding because they go into survival mode, especially during the day. If it’s at all possible for you to put some recently worn clothing, bedding, a cat tree, if your cat has one near a open door window or garage where the cat will have access to return home, they usually will do it between midnight and 3 AM in the morning. Do not put a litter box out because that will attract other predators such as coyotes, raccoons, skunks, etc. keeping your cat in hiding. That’s why they bury their pee and poop even when outside or in their litter box to hide their scent .At night time, you can also take a flashlight looking under cars in trees and bushes Taking with you a bag of treats if your cat is treat motivated, calling its name softly staying low to the ground, shaking the bag and using the flashlight to possibly light up your cats eyes. (even if you’re a cat hears you calling them they may not respond because again they are in survival mode and may not want to give away their hiding spot )Sometimes they can stay in hiding for days so don’t give up. Hope these tips help and that you’re beautiful. Cat returns home safely and soon🙏🐈‍⬛❤️ don’t give up sometimes they can stay in hiding for over a week until they get really hungry, especially when a lot of commotion is going on during the daytime. also if there’s been any recent rain your kitty may stay in hiding even longer so like I said, just don’t give up. It just may take a while. Also check shelters in person they don’t always list intake cats on their website.
