The kitty was here yesterday, at 8:11pm on a dot. Super skittish, so that's as close as I could get. Clipped ear, didn't see a collar or a white patch :'( pretty friendly other than that

intersection of Bellomy and California St in Santa Clara, by the apartments towards Californid. he also likes to hang out under a truck right before heaving to the food bowl in the evening. I will keep an eye out today and will try to take more pictures and zoom in to see if there's a white spot on the chest

Thank you for sending a photo. Yeah it’s hard to tell. What area is this? He has a subtle white chest spot. It’s very possible he lost his collar.

Check the shelters. Shelter.volunteer here..if you get him back microchip, collar and tag, and keep him inside. Nowadays, there are too many ways cats can go missing or get killed.

I recommend you look in close neighbours outbuildings we found ours in backyard neighbor RV- they had looked but he hid we found him 3 days later he was fine but I hate to think if we hadn’t. Just have a flyer with you and kindly ask to have a quick look so you can call out to him as cats frequently hide when frightened. I hope kitty is home 🔜 🙏

For Kai’s people: Please read the advice shared on the Missing Animal Response Network. They have a page specific to lost cat behavior. I have intentionally placed a space before .com in the below URL, due to the idiocy of FB which is blocking the link. Please copy/paste and remove the space to reach the page. https://www.missinganimalresponse. com/lost-cat-behavior/ If you have not already, visit neighboring homes and ask them to look into their garages and outbuildings, checking multiple times while sitting patiently, and quietly. Cats get scared when in strange places and won't necessarily bolt for the door when it is opened, and might not even run to a familiar person if they happen to be present. Also, post flyers - don't rely upon everyone having access to on-line posts. Check every logical and illogical place your cat may have gotten into on your property, to name just a couple: cabinets/drawers — high and low; in garages/basements/sheds. Don’t forget to check in with local vets and animal shelters. Some have had success with placing a humane trap in their backyard - luring kitty in with a serving of their regular food; also with leaving clothing/blankets with your and/or their scent. If you have not already, post to Pawboost and/or Nextdoor. Each has their own audience and can be highly effective. Finally, for any reading this, please keep a bowl of water (ideally freshened every 2-3 days) in your garages/outbuildings for those instances when a neighborhood critter happens to find themselves trapped.
