I have lost my boy Loki while I was hospitalized. He is such a good boy. Skittish with strangers. Food and and a calm soothing voice should bring him to you

You might try a live trap, they are fairly cheap, my Jane wanted to come back but was too overwhelmed and scared, she had made a home under a backyard shed across the street and wouldnt let anyone near her. I saw she kept coming around the doors at night and if i didnt have other pets, i would have left the door cracked and that may have solved it. Eventually she was found eating hamburger in the trap on my front porch and all was right again. It took about 3 weeks for her to show up and i did have to release squirrels and possums along the way which were easy. Tuna in oil also makes a lot of scent. Make sure there's water too. If its cold out, wrap the trap in a blanket and make sure to check it often, check it often no matter what the weather is. In fact, best to keep a camera on it. I believe in Jane's case, the live trap was her only chance. Best of luck and a swift resolve for you I hope

Most lost cats come home/ are found between midnight-5 am so that’s a good time to look. Door to door with flyers in the area and flyers with nearby vets and shelters really helps. If sighted, It’s better not to chase, lost cats are even more skittish and spooked outside and will even run from their owners. If possible, it’s better to sit at ground level and talk in a normal voice, which will bring them closer to you. Even better, bring some food, smellier the better - tuna, shrimp, rotisserie chicken. If you can safely leave a door or window cracked open specially at night, the cat might walk back in. They can get locked by mistake in sheds garages and bats, ask neighbors to check and if they can leave doors open for a while. A frightened cat in hiding probably won’t come out when people are around.

Immediately Call Reaves Search and Rescue, hang flyers, talk to neighbors, leave his food and some of your clothes out, go out all different hours of day and nite and call his name, look under and inside everything, check vets and rescue centers in person every day. Put on Pawboost and other sites!

Be sure and post on Nextdoor. Put up flyers everywhere including in your yard, hang some of your unwashed clothing outside, and put out some smelly food. Check under decks and porches, inside garages and outdoor building, and around bushes and tree lines; ask neighbors to do the same. Go outside late at night when it’s quiet and call for him/her while shaking his/her favorite treats, use a flashlight to help see his/her eyes.
