My cat snuck out the door and was trying to get in all morning before the sunrise, and all of a sudden she wasn’t near our hse anymore. We would be very grateful for any information. We’ve been looking non-stop for the past two days and left out food and water. It’s unusual for her to just disappear; she knows how to get back home, so we’re thinking someone might have seen her wandering and picked her up it’s very hot outside so want to ensure she’s not in the heat. Thank you so much; we miss her a lot.

Randi Spencer the cat probably snuck out the door at some point and the owner saw the cat on security cameras trying to get back in after the fact when they realized she was missing. Sphynx are notoriously curious and stealthy plus they are shadow cats. Mine regularly tries to nonchalantly walk out the door with the dogs. When people say they are Velcro cats they mean it with their whole chest. The only thing enticing enough to peel mine from my side is a warm basket of laundry, otherwise he’s never more than a few steps away.

They said she was chipped and registered as named Emerald. If she was chipped at your breeder and you never updated the chip this is who they would have called. Otherwise if she was adopted by you from another family who called her emerald, the chip may still be registered to them. I would call TAF & the breeder or previous owner. I can’t speak for all agencies but in my 25 years of working in veterinary medicine I’ve never worked anywhere that would release a found animal without solid proof of ownership. My guess is they released to whomever the microchip linked back to. I hope you are reunited with your baby ASAP 🙏🏻 🐾

Ok so if policy is a 3 day hold...and TAF adopted the cat out in less than ONE day...couldn't the owner pursue legal action and get the cat back?? I would be FUMING!!!!
