Linda Gioia Wow!!! Excellent tips! Am catching only raccoons. And actually quit with the trap because I’m attracting animals that would scare this kitty held to death. But I have personal things out that he can smell, etc etc etc. I think or feel as I I’ve covered the bases.

Amazing! Very helpful. I’ve done about all of what you suggested…even walking around at night and calling every few hours for the last 6 days…and, of course, during the day too with sardines or salmon because of the strong scent.

My cat has gotten out a few times over the last 20 years. Here are a few of the scenarios and how I got him back. one time he was stuck in a raccoon trap the neighbor's yard several houses down And my husband found him. One time he got out and was gone for 10 days before I found him around the block at night underneath a car with a flashlight, I saw his eyes. One time I found him in one of my neighbor's garages a few houses down late at night using the same flashlight technique, he was just laying in the boat that was in the back of their garage. One time he got out and was gone for a few days, I always put flyers and s locked inside a lady's garage that she hadn't been inside for a few days. Looking at night is helpful. Last year when he got out was the first time in a long time and he's old so I worried a lot, I set my alarm and got up every hour on the hour to go outside and walk around calling for him and finally he ran up at about 4:30 a.m. looking often at night is key. They usually stay close . Shake food or treats bags outside or open tins of food. My brother's cat got stuck in a tree about 40 ft up for several days. He's probably nearby and possibly stuck somewhere he cannot get out. If there's a neighborhood Facebook page posts there and put signs up around the neighborhood as well as delivering them personally to people's houses and if there are any stores nearby. Also post on for the love of Louie Facebook page and the next door app. If you have a local humane society, poundcor any place in street animal can be taken go and physically check those places as well. Put stuff that smells like your house and like your cat outside. Good luck ☺️

If kitty is truly an indoor kitty. Not an indoor outdoor kitty this will work. If kitties is an outdoor kitty, I would recommend something else. 💔😭🙏🏻 U R the best person to get kitty back🙏🏻🐾. I’m telling you kitty is so close to your house . I see it and hear it all the time. That they’re under the deck next door in the bush. You are the best person to get kitty back. I’ve been trapping for a long time. please I can’t stress how important it is to be consistent diligent it does take a lot of work. food and water call Kitty day and night A camera is super important. Sometimes you even have to set a trap. please it’s so important to call your kitty day & night when it’s most quiet. Get a camera out there cause you can’t be by the door 24 seven. it took me A month to get my cat back. And I had to use a trap🙏🏻🙏🏻. Very important. Get a flashlight and at night check to see if you see glowing eyes. Please don’t waste time help your kitty find their way home. Please follow these steps to help your kitty to come home 🏡… Put things out the litter. Anything you have from your brush hair anything tie it to something by your camera! that kitty remembers. This will help Kitty smell and find his way home. I do TNR please If you follow these steps you are sure to get your kitty... You could get A trap from A shelters near you, and try to place trap by Bush, a hedge camouflage with large leaves. With food in the back. sprinkle kitties Litter! cats can smell up to 500 to 1000 feet. sprinkle a little left right back in front of your house. Stay on top of it every day. prayers.. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 . If kitty is gone a few weeks. check local Animal Control, rescues & shelters, Vets, Police Station, & ask your neighbors. check every so many days if you can. but file a missing kitty report provide them with a picture, I would say try the whole radius of your block not just a couple of houses to see if anyone saw kitty. Sometimes it takes a few days even weeks for kitty to come out of hiding. 🐾🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😿

Ask neighbors to check their garages and sheds, under decks, shrubs and trees. Here’s hoping your sweet baby is back home safely again soon!

Have neighbors check garages and sheds. Have a tree out back? Check that too. Leave your garage door up a little so they can return home to a familiar place. Place a box outside with blankets or even the clothes you wore today so a cat can pick up the scent and make it home. If you are new to this area, have friends keep an eye out at your former home. And please: CHECK THE LOCAL SHELTERS DAILY I hope your kitty makes it back home safe very soon. Please make sure to get your cat chipped once they return, and PLEASE keep them indoors! PLEASE NEVER LOSE HOPE! LOOK UP! Cats are great climbers and looking for them on the ground only is limiting your search. Male wanderers tend to stay within a territory of about 150 acres, while females stay closer to home, roaming only about 40 acres. This means that your average male cat is likely to stay within 1500 feet of home, while your average female tends not to go much farther than 75 yards from your door. Be careful of the lost pet finders. Most of them are playing on your emotions and wanting cash up front.! https://www.pawboost.com/?utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=report_pet_alert_link_lost Sacramento SPCA | (916) 383-7387 Front Street Shelter | 311 or (916) 808-7387 Bradshaw Animal Shelter | 311 or (916) 368-7387 Elk Grove Animal Services | (916) 691-2489 or (916) 714-5115
