Message from Owner

Hello, this is my cat Coonie he got out late saturday night or early sunday morning. The door didn't close all the way, and I'm guessing he got out. He is a very nervous cat with new people He definitely loves his mom and dad but im not sure he would go to anyone else. He has the loudest meow ive ever heard. He is a tabby cat with a white chest and nose, his pattern is more of a swirl than a tiger stripe. He has a flea collar on I believe it is white or Gray He is very skittish, and will most likely not come to anybody. He also does not like to be picked up. So I 'm not sure he would let anybody pick him up He only ever got out one other time for a few minutes. He ran right over to me and came home. I'm not sure if something scared him and he ran away. And he doesn't know how to get back. We've been searching. There are also a lot of new stray cats in our area. So I don't know if he's scared and hiding because of the other cats. If anybody in the area could check their garage and their sheds, maybe he got in and the door got closed, and he stuck somewhere anybody who sees him. Please give me a call at. He is very loved and very missed his family. Wants him back so any tips and any help we would totally be appreciated. If everybody can, please keep their eyes out and their ears lol my kids are not broken. They just want kitty home

Finding missing cats is about 2 things: food and cameras. If you have a camera on your house, put a dish of a fish flavor canned food out around 8pm and keep a bowl of dry cat food out there 24/7. Check your cameras every morning to see if he came to eat. Cats come out in the middle of the night when we are asleep. If your home doesn’t have a camera, get a cellular trail cam from Walmart. Point it at the dish of food. When the cam senses motion at the food dish, it’ll send a pic to your cell phone. I’m sure he hasn’t gone too far. If you see him on camera at night, watch for him around the same time the next night, & if you see him, quietly open the door and see if he’ll come in or if he’ll let you pick him up and bring him in. If not, put a humane trap there the next night same time. Make fliers and give to all nearest neighbors. Put 1 in the local grocery store. The more people you have watching out for him the better. Just keep putting food out at night and checking cameras. It shouldn’t take long for him to show up at the food dish. Praying you find him 🙏🙏

Borrow a humane trap. Set it right beside the place that he got out. Put kitties favorite food, treats and sardines in the trap with a trail of juice & sprinkle catnip in the juice, leading out of the trap. Put an article of his favorite human’s unlaundered clothing, over top of the trap. Have his favorite human sit in the spot he got out, at dusk &/or dawn. Talk to him softly like, he was sitting right beside you because, he will not be far away. Gently shake his treat container & take a laser pointer & move it around very slowly so as to peak his curiosity & not scare him away further. Also set trail cams to see if kitty is there. Trap must be monitored at all times. Put up flyers You should also leave a door open at dusk and early morning hours Keep things very quiet Often they'll come back in on their own

Try lostmykitty.com they have a service that sends out a lost pet alert to the phones in your area with a description and your phone number asking people to check their basements, garages and sheds. There is a fee, but that’s how I found my cat. If you can print out flyers, give some to the mail carriers and your neighbors and put them on their bushes as well as telephone poles. Also give them to the animal shelters and the veterinarians offices. if there are businesses nearby ask if you can put a flyer in their window. 🙏💔

Bre Sands Indoor only cats rarely will show themselves during the daytime & often will not respond to you calling them. So the chances of a neighbor or even you seeing them during the daytime is unfortunately pretty low. They hide close by, then often return during the night to where they got out of your house, & they try to get back in. If your cat is strictly an indoor cat, then if possible, try leaving the exit point open after dark to see if they will walk back in on their own. Having a camera set up outside the exit point is very helpful to alert you if they’re approaching. If you don’t have a camera at the door your cat escaped through, I recommend buying one today or tomorrow at Walmart & get it set up before dark. If you can’t leave the exit point open after dark, then you still need to set a motion activated camera outside the exit point so you will be alerted if your cat returns during the night. Often you’re sleeping & you don’t know that your cat is returning, trying to find a way back inside. If you get a sighting on the camera, then you can set a humane trap outside the exit point the following night & have it ready at dark. Either way, do not go outside once you leave the exit point open OR you’ve set a humane trap. Let the camera do the work of alerting you to movement outside that door. I don’t recommend setting food or a humane trap outside the exit point until you get a sighting on the camera. You don’t want to attract wildlife & other roaming cats, which will prevent your cat from approaching by having food sitting outside the exit point. Wait until you know your cat is returning before setting a humane trap. Your cat probably won’t approach your house if you’re outside walking around either. Secure any other pets in another room if you leave the exit point open. Place some of your worn clothes outside the exit point for scent & just inside the door. Do not put the litter box outside as it will attract other neighborhood cats who will prevent your cat from returning.
