Food stations are absolutely necessary! A dog will come back to food and water.

Melissa Hunter Miller I’m with Anakin’s Trails. I know you are working with other trappers, but please make sure that you’re putting out food stations nearby where you are getting sightings. Dogs always return to food stations , and put a highly baited food station nearby in a safe place and bait it very well. Make sure to place a camera! It should lure her over to that bait station. Once she is seen eating on camera, THEN put the trap with a camera close to the food station where she ate at . Bait it WELL. Since she is experienced as a dog on the run, Make sure to camouflage the trap in case she is hesitant to go in. The smell of the foliage and greenery will persuade her to go in. She needs to settle, and the only way you will get her to settle is with FOOD! (Bait with things like liquid smoke , Vienna sausage, salmon wet cat food , potted meat, tomato or vegetable soup, liver wurst , Braunschweiger, etc ..
