So happy he's safe He's a little beauty .This will be the longest time for you waiting until they open on Monday and you can get your baby boy back. My nieces dog got out the other month and it was over a weekend and they said can't have him back till Monday ,she was going round the bend with worry but l reassured her that at least we knew he was safe there and she stopped worrying so much .We were waiting there on Monday morning for them to open he was over moon to see us as we were to see him. Happy days🙂🐾🐾 .Good luck and take care ❤🐾🐾Llovely happy ending.

Make sure you post on: nextdoor. com, ring doorbell, lost and found pets for your area on social media, pawboost. com, lovelost. com, petfbi. com, any state, city, and county sites. Let the police, vets, groomers, and dog daycares know and put up posters there. Absolutely let animal control know immediately so they can check. Call daily if you cannot go in person. Also let them know so they can let their drivers know so they can keep an eye out on their driving routes. If your dog is chipped, let the chip company know also. Make sure the chip has your updated information. Put some hot smelly food out on your porch like: hotdogs, smoky links, rotisserie chicken, or canned chicken. Get liquid smoke(comes where the Bar-B-Q sauce is in the store), add to a squirt bottle with water, and spray in the trees near your house. If you don't have liquid smoke, you can make juice with chicken broth+Bar-B-Q sauce+water. Boil it on the stove. . Drizzle it on the lawn up to the porch. Also, put something with your scent on it (pillowcase or shirt work great) on the porch too. Make posters. Large ones. Frame with bright red or orange. Also make little flyers and put in doors. FLYER FLYER FLYER! Flood the area with them (homes, businesses). Give them to your mail carrier, UPS driver, and Amazon driver. Ask stores and gas stations in your area if you can hang a flyer. Tape them on port-a-pottys at construction sites. They're critical in getting a lost pet back!! There is a free app called postermywall where you can make free colorful flyers. Order 200+ flyers SUPPLIES: Clear large rolls of packing tape w/dispenser. staple gun and staples, Page protectors or thick clear plastic to cover the signs. Hang on all telephone poles & signs in the area that your pet was last seen in and go at least two miles in every direction from that sighting. If they get taken down by the authorities, get sign frames from a local printing store and stick in the ground. Make sure you do all four corners at major intersections. Hang the flyers going in and out of the subdivisions along the main roads. Using posterboard really helps! Make sure to put flyers in a protector for the poster and then use packaging tape to cover the front. This helps the poster to last longer in crappy weather. The dollar store has bright colored poster board.) Write on them with black marker: NAME COLOR DESCRIPTION DO NOT CHASE OR CALL CONTACT IMMEDIATELY WITH SIGHTINGS YOUR # Mailbox fliers have been really effective too. You can Tape to mailboxes but only on the outside as it is a federal offense to put them inside private mailboxes. •DO NOT CALL YOUR DOG WHEN LOOKING FOR THEM. IT WILL MAKE THEM RUN! •Check cemeteries, schools, golf courses, parks, and cul-de-sacs. Dogs like these because they are quiet. Check edges of woods and near water also, which they are drawn to. Go out at dusk and dawn, which is when they will be most active. •Make sure that if you do post on social media, you make it clear not to call or chase and to just let you know! You don't want well-meaning people running out to help as he/she will be scared and may run, which could put them in danger. • Posting a reward can also bring out people who only want the money and if they chase the dog, it could also end up running out of fear and into danger. •If you have another dog or one that your dog knows, walk that dog around so that your dog will see it and feel comfortable. Also, the second dog will leave its scent which will lead your dog home. You want him/her to settle down and stay in one area so he/she can be trapped, if necessary. Take some stinky food and place in a quiet place. If you have trail cameras, set them up and put stinky food nearby. ** If you see your dog, do not call out to them or use their name or make eye contact- Sit on the ground. Always have some stinky food with you (Hot dogs, rotisserie chicken, or a small bag of Cheetos or stinky cheese), to help lure them to you. Do not say anything or make quick moves. Your dog needs to see you, hear you, and smell you - before he/she can process who you are and come to you!!! Once they approach, quietly say a phrase they would be familiar with. If they walk away, stay put for a few minutes. They may be trying to get your scent. If they leave DO NOT CHASE them. If someone calls and says they have your dog, ask them to take a picture or send a video. If they say they saw your dog, ask them to describe something about the dog that is unique but don't ask them about that unique description. If you feel it's legit, ask " what were they doing- running, walking, etc. and which direction did they go in. Contact animal control immediately also. They can tell their drivers to keep an eye out in the area. They also might know a local rescue that does trapping! Put a huge sign on your back car window in fluorescent washable marker with description and your contact info also. Good luck!
