Message from Owner

Please help us find our beloved boy, Leo, the cat. He came to us as a stray almost 2 years ago and flatly refused to be a fully indoor cat. He has gone AWOL for a day or two before, but he always came back because he knew where the food was. We are especially concerned because he had a bite wound on his head and we were going to take him to the vet the day he disappeared. He may not respond to his name or be friendly to strangers, but he will surely respond to food offerings! We miss him terribly and worry that the bite wound will become infected if not treated properly. Please check backyards and sheds and any areas where a frightened or injured animal might hide around your property. Thank you!

Dear guardian - I'm so sorry your indoor outdoor kitty Leo is missing. This could be because of the bite - praying he is fighting the fever and illness caused by infection...sometimes they get absecesses (swollen at bite site infected) and they pop on their own but when you find him - if he has a swollen head - yes def get him to the vet to get a Convenia shot (general antibiotic) or whatever the vet recommends. The drive to get outside and the cause of the majority of fighting happens when cats are not fixed - as they fight for territory and re: mating. I pray that when you get him back home you will make an appt to get him fixed FREE OR LOW COST at SF SPCA program...i'd make an appt now since there's usually a wait. If kitty isn't fixed …. the biggest gift you could give to Leo (aside from you love) is getting him fixed❤️ 🙏 to prevent endless kittens being born outside to suffer and struggle and to prevent him from getting into horrible territorial fights that are often lethal . Thank you for being part of the solution..so many need our help...we do our best one kitty at a time. ❤️ damia LOW COST SPAY AND NEUTER: OAKLAND --> https://icraeastbay.org/resources/local-resources/spayneuter/

Ana Kirola Thank you for all the suggestions. We’ve done a few neighborhood walks and posted on our neighborhood What’s-app. Will also post on the cat groups and SFACC as you suggested. Thanks again!
