Missy is a 14 y/o unaltered, female Boarder Collie, with a long, black and white coat with a patch of fur missing from her tail. She is blind and is currently coming out of heat but may still be bleeding. She is not chipped and unfortunately her collar with ID tags was taken off today.

Message from Owner

I am posting this message for a friend who is completely distraught at the moment. Please, if anyone finds this sweet old girl, help us bring her home. She is very friendly, but relies heavily on her human because she is blind. She will certainly be scared and confused. Please help her find her way home.

General Information: Set up a scent station. Get a scent that the dog is familiar with out in front of the house (EX Worn clothing / shoes from a family member/owner that the dog lives with.) Hang it out high so that the smell can travel and guide the dog back home. Keep an access point open in case the dog returns. Please post signs with the dogs' picture and your contact information on the sign. Post these signs all over as if someone spots your dog the person can contact you and provide a location of where the dog is. (Not everyone is on Social Media). Ask your neighbors to check their doorbell or house cameras (if applicable), sheds and garage. Owners: Do not try and search for the dog - as your scent travels when you are out and walking all over can confuse the dog. The dog should only smell your scent near your home. Never underestimate the ability of a dog to find their way home using their nose. Call or go to the Animal Shelter in your area and tell them that your dog is missing to see if it has been picked up. Prayers your dog is found safely. Beware of scammers.
