Every night after 10 PM, go out a new yard with a bag of kitty treats and a flashlight, walk around your yard quietly calling your cats’s name is shaking the kitty treats bag. Here’s the flashlight to look in the bushes to see if you see your cat. Brent flyers and take them around your neighbors asking them to call you if they see your cat. Also ask them if they’ve been in their shed, outbuilding or garage. Cats go in these places to hide and feel secure, and when the owner closes the door, the cat cannot get out. You cannot hear the cat crying to get out of the structure unless you’re standing right next to it. Look under porches, decks, and any structure with an open crawlspace.

Please file a missing cat report with the Norfolk Animal Care Center. If a cat is chipped, make sure the registry has your current contact information. Check the shelter several times a week.
