Please take inside if possible and keep in a separate room. It is so cold and so many dangers for her to be outside. If that is not possible, there is a lot of information online about how to build an easy inexpensive outdoor shelter from a styrofoam cooler. Fill it with straw. Do not use towels, blankets, newspapers, hay, etc. They will get wet and the cat will freeze. Straw Will stay dry and keep her warm and dry. Post on Nextdoor for your location. Ask all your neighbors if this is their cat.

If necessary: You can borrow a humane trap from some local vets, shelters and rescue groups, etc. Then put in very smelly good like sardines, tuna, catnip, KFC rotisserie chicken, etc. Cover it with a blanket or towel. Do not put out any other food aside from what you put in the trap. If you happen to trap another animal, just release it and reset the trap. These humane traps do not hurt or harm animals. Take to a vet, shelter or police station to scan for a microchip. Vets will do this for free. Also, hopefully you can get info from the tracker. Contact local vets, shelters (spca, etc) and local police to see if a matching pet was reported as lost. Please do not just hand him over to anyone claiming to be the owner or that they will give him a good home. Ask for ID and verify. Ask for vet or adoption records and verify. Ask to see pictures of the pet.

Thanks for caring about this wonderful and beautiful 😻 kitty cat! Please 🙏 post on Nextdoor and ring apps. It will send your posts to your neighbors in 2-3 miles radius. Much better chance of getting a response. These are two free apps. They use your location to make a localized community. All the people near your location receive the posts, no one else. Nextdoor is kinda like neighborhood facebook. Ring app is for the ring doorbell cameras but you don’t need a camera to make an account. Almost all my neighbors are on it. They use the neighbors tab on ring app to post everyday porch pirate thefts, coyote sightings, cat sightings or lost cats information. God bless the kind people like you who take care of poor cats in need. 🤗 😢 So easy for everyone else to ignore them.
