Posting for neighbors who are staying in the area temporarily — please contact them directly at the numbers on the flyer. 🐾 Our sweet girl Ellie (Eloise) slipped out Wednesday and we're heartbroken. She's a grey/brown tabby with green eyes and a pink nose — a five-year-old indoor/outdoor girl, a little shy but so loved. We're only staying in Cambridge Park temporarily and don't know the neighborhood well, so every share means the world. She is microchipped. If you see her, please call Carmen or Rick at the numbers listed on the flyer. $50 reward. Thank you for helping bring Ellie home. 💔

, bushes, cars, stairs, sheds, crawl spaces, and behind outdoor equipment. A frightened cat may stay completely silent even when you call. Use a flashlight, even at night. Shine it slowly under bushes and structures—you may see the cat’s eyes reflecting. Call softly using your normal voice and then stop and listen. Shake treats or open a familiar food can. Avoid yelling or having a large group searching loudly. Leave the door they escaped from accessible if it’s safe, and sit nearby quietly. Cats sometimes sneak back once everything becomes calm. Put something outside that smells strongly like home, such as their bed, blanket, or one of your worn shirts. I would avoid putting the litter box outside unattended because it can attract other animals. Put a small amount of strong-smelling food, such as tuna or wet cat food, near the house—but watch it rather than leaving a large bowl overnight. Ask neighbors to physically look inside garages, sheds, under decks, and beneath vehicles. Cats can slip into a garage and get accidentally locked inside. Search again late tonight and around dawn, when traffic and people are quiet. That is often when a frightened cat feels safer moving. If you spot the cat, don’t run toward it. Sit or crouch down, turn partly sideways, speak softly, and let the cat approach. Even a normally friendly cat may bolt when frightened. If the cat doesn’t return by tomorrow, consider putting a humane live trap near the escape point with wet food inside, and contact local shelters/vets and report the cat missing if microchipped. One important trick: when searching with the flashlight, look within about 3–5 houses of your home first rather than immediately driving around the neighborhood. Escaped indoor cats frequently hide nearby.
