Please ask for proof of ownership from anyone claiming to be the owner. Be very careful in who you give this dog to. Many bad people out there pose as good people only to turn around and use these lost and found dogs as dog fighting bait, snake food, and laboratory testing.

If you haven't already you can check/post on PawBoost and Cincinnati Animal Care's website for lost and found pets. Also be sure to file a report with the Hamilton County Shelter Cincinnati Animal CARE. It's recommend to do so through their email lostfoundpets@cincycare.org with a current photo, information about date and location, and contact information or Facebook messenger. NOT by calling them. Can also check/post Cincinnati Tri-State Area Lost and Found Pets. PawBoost is like an Amber Alert for pets and Cincinnati Animal Care is Hamilton County's animal warden. You can also google pet lost and found groups to find more groups to check/post if you are able. There are so many groups. If you are not able to keep the animal, you can try CAC as well as other shelters, but they are often over capacity. There are also rescue organizations that may help. Please take to a vet, animal hospital, shelter or local police station to be scanned for a chip as well. When you have this pet scanned for a chip, if it does have one but it is without current contact info you can take a photo of the number on the scanner and if the owner can't be reached or the chip is unregistered you can submit it to microchiphelp.com, scroll down to Step 2 and choose the Public forum as it is a free service that specializes in researching dead end chips. Thank you for helping this pet. <3 I will share your post. Good luck!๐Ÿ€โ™ฅ๏ธ Of course if you're not in Hamilton County you will need to do the same at your County's shelter.
