Rozie's Owner Says

Thanks everyone! Rozie came home on his own smelling of fresh-cut wood. A little skinnier and grateful for a hard-boiled egg. Went right back outside to drink from the pond and puddles. Likely stuck in a shed or garage. Not traumatized enough to stay in the hse however ... which means we will likely be posting about him again over the years ...

Michele Motavalli Thank you! That's an impressive amount of info - thanks for taking the time to write it all down. Posted on PawBoost, LostMyKitty, and PetcoLove and shared on SM. Flyers in the neighbors mailboxes already - we'll go farther tomorrow. He's outside as much as inside and we know he would be home if he could - he's been taken in or is trapped. We've been cat owners for 30+ years and this comes with the territory. We will call the service center Monday and do more from your thorough list in the coming days. Thank you!!

Adapt as needed for your area…be aware that cats hide when In new surroundings or scared. Put flyers up everywhere. Go door to door in at least a Two Block area and talk to each person and show them kitty’s pix. Put flyers in mailboxes too! One cat was found after over a month lost this way. Some people may take cat in as abandoned Or turn them in to a rescue as lost. Check all rescues, lost pet and cat sites, and vets and let them know about kitty. Check all pounds, and shelters. Check where you city takes lost animals (I.e. shaker sends them to Pepperidge kennels out by Oakwood near Bedford). Check all garages , recessed window wells and buildings or containers cat could be trapped in. If cat is not used to being out it may hide for weeks. If used to being out it could go further. Talk to mailman, lawn men, kids as they see a lot. Put trail cameras up and check daily along with all security cameras for cats presence at night. Put humane animal trap Out to catch your kitty. Walk and search at night with a flashlight so kitty’s eyes shine . Put kitty’s used cat box out along with cans of smelly tuna and an old used shirt you’ve worn recently. You must aggressively search for your cat as there are many dangers as well as dangerous people and animals that could cause harm. Contact the garbage service as they pick up deceased animals. Shaker keeps a log at service center and alerts people if there pet is found injured or deceased. Post pix and info on local Nextdoor. Post on Paw boost, Lostmykitty, and Sam the parrot and cuyahoga lost pets sites.Go out morning and night and call your cat keeping in mind that you don’t want to call your cat when traffic is coming. I would also Contact local TNR people and groups who know the cats in the area. They may have trapped Him thinking he was a homeless or may have just seen him. I hope this helps and hope you find your cat. .Put flyers up everywhere. Go door to door in at least a Two Block area and talk to each person and show them kitty’s pix. Put flyers in mailboxes too!
