You should put out some of his food, some of his blankets, toys and anything that has his scent on it. Also set out some clothing that has your family’s scent on it as well. It may help him find his way back home Also, go out at night w/ a flashlight and shine it around. Dogs eyes glow at night, shine it around in the woods by your house, in any garages or sheds, under any decks / porches & under cars etc

All the above advice + Make sure you go to the shelters, animal control, humane societies & every rescue you can think of in person and check for your dog or cat as often as you can. Don’t rely on just calling to check for them. The shelters are understaffed and overwhelmed right now, they may not recognize your dog or cat from al description over the phone. And, put up flers & post on love of louie, next door, etc., etc

Post on NextDoor and on For the Love of Louie and on the 24petconnect website and on the petcolovelost website. Check with Detroit Animal Care and Control daily IN PERSON and check with the Humane Society and the Michigan Anti Cruelty Society. Check rescue pages like Detroit Dog Rescue and Detroit Pit Crew and Rebel Dogs Detroit. Put up flyers in your neighborhood

Please put worn clothing and dirty sheets outside with your scent on it and your dogs bedding/blankets with their scent on it so they can smell/find their way home. I’ve heard dogs can smell up to a couple of miles. If you have a gate, leave cracked so they can get in. Please post on For the Love of Louie, next door app, Pawboost and ring app. Please contact animal control and local shelters. Post flyers
