Felicia Peckham, I’ve posted in our neighborhood’s Nextdoor. The local hospital is tracking and I’ll call animal control for notification in case they happen to call them, but they don’t open for another 40 mins. We’ll keep him and integrate him with our own pup but read it’s illegal to just “rehome” without trying to get the original owners first (at least in another state’s laws). Theres an expectation that a person has to try to find the owners. But I’m telling ya. He is sweet enough we’d keep him lol. I know he is missing his family though. I’ll look and post on some military spouses group as well.

Just wish I could remember there name. :/ it was a tough time for me back then. But I am trying I don’t know if anyone knows or is apart of any military groups but that would be your best route

I’m the old owner his name was snoopy they renamed him diesel. Military family. I can’t for the life of me remember there name. I looked all night:/ he’s a great dog.. but I’m not done trying.

Mandi Prather-Black, first things I did. Vet first. Microchipped, but “old information” so the current owners never updated it(?), was rehomed as a pup. Originally from CO. Looks healthy otherwise. 7 years old, sweet pup.

Please also post to Nextdoor and have checked for a microchip. Any vet can do that free of charge. Thank you for keeping him safe. Hopefully his family will be found soon.

Ellen Sparks, have not heard from an owner yet. Microchipped but reportedly the information is old, originated in CO. We’re in NC clearly so it’s possible he was adopted by a military family, brought here, and got out?.. but he dislikes storms, cried last night and today when it thunders. Gets along okay with my pit mix rescue but am not letting them just roam around loosely in the house, boundaries are in place (crate) to help ensure both pups stay safe. They’d probably be fine but he’s more energetic at 7 right now (could be the fear or his mix) than my 5.5 yr old pit mix. They’re napping now 🙂
