Barny is much missed by both myself and my other three cats. We were a family and now we are missing a vital part of it. Barney is very gentle and loving with with people he knows. If you see a stray black and white cat, please call me at and I will come right over. Thanks!

DESCRIPTION

Black and white tuxedo type short hair cat. Nose half black and half white. Shy of strangers. Doesn't know his name, but may come to food. I don't have a photo of him. Photo above is another cat. Barny is mostly black with white paws and chest.

Put things outside that smell familiar , a towel or piece of clothing. Cats can smell for miles. Also put stinky stuff out like tuna, sardines, clam juice. Walk around at night with a flashlight looking under cars, in bushes and up in trees his eyes will reflect in the light. Clang his food bowls walking around to calling his name. Ask your neighbors to look in and under sheds, decks, in garages in case he’s locked in. Good luck I hope he comes home soon 🙏🏻 Also post on petco’s site called love lost… https://lost.petcolove.org/ And on Nextdoor and lost and found pets of Hillsborough County Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Lostandfoundpetsofhillsboroughcounty/?mibextid=LQQJ4d Post flyers and ask around with your neighbors in case someone took him inside. My friends cat was once in the house across the street for a month! If you’re not certain he got out please check everywhere inside I once read of a cat stuck in a recliner chair and dresser drawer. https://www.dailypaws.com/cats-kittens/cat-safety-tips/how-to-find-a-lost-cat https://www.pawboost.com/blog/7-effective-search-tips-for-finding-your-lost-cat/ More good tips The cat must be able to associate the outside of her home (that he is unfamiliar with) with the inside of the home that he knows. The ONLY way he will be able to do that is by smell. So she should put things that smell like her and the inside of the house (used towels, unwashed t-shirts, blankets, pillow cases) outside the last door he went out of. Cats have an amazing sense of smell. Also put his food and fresh water there too. Cats almost always hide within a 3 house radius when they get out. They aren’t active during the day but may come out at night. If he’s not back by dark, she should go out late tonight, when it’s really quiet and her neighbors are all asleep, and search for him with a flashlight. She should walk around slowly, calling his name, and pausing each time to listen for faint meows. Pausing each time to listen for faint meows is critical, because lost cats don’t usually come running and he may have to be coaxed out of hiding. His eyes will reflect in the light and it will make it easier to see him.

Check local Humane Society, county shelters and local rescues. Also post on Pawboost .com, nextdoor .com and the vets .com plus petco lost and found onlinr. See if there is a Facebook page "lost and found pets of (your county and surrounding counties)... check Humane Society and local animal shelter daily, they usually only give 3 days before adopting out. Post flyers locally and on doors of local businesses who will allow.. The more people who see the better. Check local rescues too. Contact your microchip company and flag the chips as lost pets and make sure all your contact info is updated. If you adopted and don't know if microchipped (most are) contact the rescue, shelter, etc and get the microchip info to contact and update. Check for nearby security camera footage too. Post a sign with photos and Lost in your front yard or apt/condo window to get neighbors to help look. https://www.preventivevet.com/dogs/how-to-update-your-pets-microchip https://www.petco.com/content/petco/PetcoStore/en_US/pet-services/resource-center/seasonal-topics/Tips-to-Find-Lost-Pets.html

Put it's bedding with its scent and some of your soiled laundry with your scent. In the evening call its name while shaking a bag of treats.. Post on Nextdoor.com, Ring app and Pawboost.com. Post flyers in ziploc bags around the neighborhood and give to neighbors. Check in storage sheds and garage. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
