He loves being brushed and is food motivated. He is usually skittish with new people. Last seen at our with cross streets of N Galleno Avenue / W Lettuce Lane. We have had him since he was a few weeks old. Please help us bring him !

Message from Owner

Skye is normally skittish with new people, but gets along with dogs and other cats. Please let us know if you've seen him, or possibly took him in thinking he was a feral, as we know there are quite a few feral running around out here. He's very missed.

There may be some tips in here that you haven't thought of!! * Did she/he just wander away, or do you think stolen? Make sure to report to animal control/police, as people usually report found dogs to animal control or shelters!! * Put fliers out in stores, cafes, minimarts and vet clinics in AND AROUND your area, as little dogs can travel a long distance! * Also, check with schools (summer school??) or libraries to see if they have a bulletin board they could put a flier on!! Kids see things that adults don't!! * Call RADIO STATIONS in and around your area as they usually have a pet patrol for lost and found pets and this would spread the word to a lot of people!! * Join your local AND surrounding county exchanges for buy sell trade as they have many people on them, too!! * PawBoost, Craigslist and NextDoor are good, plus, check the found and for sale columns in those groups!! * Also, name the general area these streets are - north, east, etc. because people may not know where these streets are!! * Check with neighbors to see if she/he got shut in a shed or garage, by accident or if she/he was seen on a camera!! * Check shelters IN PERSON - DO NOT JUST CALL!! Often they have so many dogs & cats, they don't know who they have! I read where new dogs were kept in a different room sometimes, and not necessarily out for viewing, so ask if they have new dogs in a different area! * NEVER give up!! Keep searching and joining many groups to share, and "bump" your posts in the groups you have already shared to! Plus, keep in mind, many groups only allow one or two bumps a wk., to keep it fair to everyone that needs to post! Do not keep making new posts, because that gets very confusing to people! * These tips can apply to dogs and cats!! ** And NEVER give up - pups have been found after quite a long time!!

Try putting out theor potty box a clothing of your you have worn and a can of tuna opened.. they smell their scent from their potty box and smell your scent on clothing and of course a can of tuna. Let us know when your baby is found. Do you have a cage trap that will be great to put the can of tuna inside. That how I got my fur baby back. Because she kept hiding because she was scared to come out.

Between the hours of 11pm-2am walk around your block calling his name and shaking his favorite treat bag. Make sure to take a carrier with you as he will be scared. Contact homes around your block that have SHEDS or GARAGES. Kitties will seek dark places to hide and could get locked in. It’s not hot now, but neighbors may not open their shed/garage daily/weekly trapping kitty with no food or water.

More tips...Is she Microchipped? If so notify the company that she is missing and make sure your contact info is up to date. Blanket your neighborhood with big bright flyers and ask people to search garages and sheds and parked vehicles like RV'S and other places where she could have gotten trapped inside. Search with a flashlight to reflect eyes and a treat bag to shake and pop top cans of smelly food to pop open now and then. If she is not used to being outside then she is probably hunkered down hiding somewhere close by. Post on other places like Nextdoor and Craigslist and pawboost and lost petcolove org and Facebook lost and found pages but be aware of scammers targeting lost and found pages never give money up front to anyone who says they have your cat or can find her and never agree to meet anyone alone. Borrow a humane trap from a shelter like Hermitage or Pacc and set it up baited outside the exit where she escaped. Keep searching and spreading the word.

Here are some suggestions that might help: Lost INDOOR ONLY cats are typically recovered within a 5 house radius. They are paralyzed with fear and will hunker down in a hiding spot usually next to a building and not move until they are found or get hungry. They will not come when called or vocalize--you have to find them. Look at dusk and dawn with a flashlight so their eyes reflect. The single most important task is to take fliers door to door, pin to community mailboxes and on street corners. Seeing a cat outside is not unusual and no one will think twice about seeing your pet unless you've put a flier in their hand. Ask them to report any sightings by phone or text. Ask your neighbors to check their backyards, sheds and garages. Post on Craigslist, Nextdoor and Facebook lost and found sites. Do not put a litter box outside. It will attract other cats and predators to the area. Put your used pillow case or pajamas outside for scent. If your cats is microchipped, make sure your info is current https://www.freepetchipregistry.com/ The biggest mistake cat owners make is to quit physically looking too soon, assuming that the cat has been taken by predators. Cats take much longer to recover than dogs because of their hiding behavior. https://missionreunite.org/search-techniques View found cats in the shelter daily at https://bit.ly/3Gg6kxk Lost OUTDOOR or INDOOR/OUTDOOR (even outside on the back porch) cats do not come home because they are unable to--injured or trapped. A female cat's territory is approximately 4 acres; a male's, 4 times as large. You need to physically knock on doors with fliers and ask neighbors to search their backyards, sheds and garages for an injured cat. Your search radius should expand every day they are lost. Flier community mail boxes, street signs and utility poles. Ask to report any sightings by phone or text. Posting to social media is not enough--most people don't turn to social media when they find an animal. Find your neighborhood community cat colony feeders and ask them to watch for your cat.
