Carmen Vick Yes - they will try and make themselves safe and not move during the day when it is noisy - they will attempt to find their way home at night when there is not much noise. Leave an access point open for him to slip back in. Sharing a success story - the girl sprayed her perfume on the 4 tires of her car and her cat was found under the car the next day.

General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.

I'm so sorry that Oscar is missing. Often they haven't gone far from the point of last seen so check with ALL of your neighbors!! Since he's an indoor cat he is likely hiding nearby. Research shows that most cats are found within a 6 block radius of the point of last seen. Please ask your neighbors to check their sheds, garages, window wells, under porches, etc. anywhere he may have inadvertently been trapped. It's possible someone took him in thinking that he was a stray. Consider putting missing flyers in your neighborhood. Also check online at the found cats at the shelters near you. Check daily because they are only on a stray hold for a short time before they can be adopted by others. Look for him and call for him after it gets dark (around 7:45pm currently) and around dawn (around 6:45am currently) as that's when they move about. I've heard that they try to return the same way they left so if you can leave a garage door, window, etc. open. Make sure that your contact information connected to his chip registration is correct! There are mixed opinions on putting out their litterbox. Put out a piece of your clothing and one of his blankets. I've seen scammers replying to lost pet posts saying that they have found the lost pet. If you have to respond by messenger it is a scam. Praying that Oscar is home soon ❤️🙏 Here's a helpful resource: https://youtu.be/g2eCoC63B9I?si=nfyOzi00hC5SNFV
