Message from Owner

My boy Gilgamesh ran off on 4-26-26 around 4:30 pm after my family and I took shelter at Gregg Bruce Auto from the storms. The carrier he was in with his sister fell apart and while we got her just fine, Gil darted down 6th Street towards Indiana Street. He's been an indoor cat most of his life (we found him around this same street almost 5 years ago as a kitten!) So I have no idea how terrified he is. He's usually people friendly but I don't know if that will be the same since he's been out now in these recent storms. Please help us find him. We miss him so so much and just desperately want him to come . Offering a reward for anyone who can help us get him ! Flyers are up around Baldwin City with contact numbers or also being told to get ahold of Gregg Bruce Auto if found.

It's been a week now with no visual confirmations of our boy. 😔 my husband, nephew, and I are still looking. We're doing literally everything we've been suggested to do. I appreciate everyone being on the lookout for him though. But still no real sign of Gilgamesh.

Here's a few suggestions that might help. As soon as your dog has gone missing start looking for it right away for long as you can. If it’s a small dog, check inside your home throughly. Leave your garage door open slightly with its dog bed just inside the door. Put an unwashed article of clothing outside or something with a familiar scent. (Preferably hang it so the wind can carry the scent). Focus your search during times when your neighborhood or communities are quieter- dusk and dawn. If you have another dog you might take it with you. Call animal control and file a missing report at the shelter with pic. Pass out flyers to all veterinarians, and mail carriers. Keep In mind that not everyone is on Facebook. Text your neighbors and friends and asked them to share. Notify microchip company. Post on all local sites with contact information and location. Pass out flyers. Hang large neon posters with contact information large enough to be seen from a car. Focus on areas that have food and water sources. Fast food restaurants seem to be a magnet for them. Some seem to follow or hang around railroad tracks. Be sure to check under porches, in garages, sheds, window wells, ditches. etc. Never assume the dog will come to you. If spotted, Do Not Chase or Call it. While searching the last known area, shake their food dish or a bag such as a chip bag. ◦

Julie Petrik We're doing the litter box thing and we've got his favorite blankets outside Gregg Bruce Auto. We've been looking at multiple times of the day, even at night and haven't found anything yet. Not giving up though. We've seen other black cats in the area but so far they've not been him.

Put out a personal piece of clothing or blanket with your scent on it so he can smell it or even a can of tuna to entice him back bring in at night put out his used litter box outside they can smell it for a long distance bring in at night go searching once it starts getting dark use a flashlight cats eyes glare check with neighbors yards and garages 💙💙💙
