Message from Finder

Female Chihuahua Found I found a female chihuahua this evening around 9pm in Chattanooga near the Prospect Baptist Church on the corner of Dodson Ave and Citico Ave. She is blonde and very sweet. She is wearing pink collar with a very worn pink rabies tag and a service animal tag. Currently being held at McKamey on a stray hold so we can find her people.

If able, try posting on the local Nextdoor app (if possible), lost .petcolove .org and watching craigslist. If you post to other groups, be sure to add the county, city and state to your posting since the posting may be shared nationally. Also, take flyers to shelters and vet offices with a photo and report the pet found. They have a board for both lost and found pets. Remember, not everyone is on Social Media. (IF able, try taking to a vet to check for a microchip too. Ask for proof of ownership by either vet records or a picture from the phone.)

Are they able to read the numbers on the rabies tag? I found a dog a couple months ago and they were able to find his owner via the rabies tag.

You can look on the lost and found sites such as pawboost, home again, an Petco Love to see if the owner has posted the dog as missing or lost. Look frequently everyday. Also notify the shelter, I guess it would be McKamey animal Center, That you have the dog in case the owner goes there to look for it. You can take it to any vet and they will do a free scan to see if it has a microchip and find the owner that way. Also. Thank you so much for helping this little one ♥️

I would expect that McKamey can get assistance to look up the rabies license number to trace back to the dog's veterinarian and family.
