For everyone suggesting food, clothing, a shelter box, a litter box, etc. Thank you for the effort, however, he is one of 9 cats in this household. Currently he is one of 6 who are indoor/outdoor because we got them all fixed and got their shots. We also have A TON of stray cats in our neighborhood- it's in a back area surrounded by trees and wild life as well... Yes, we have A LOT of homes back here- but they are surrounded by mini and larger forested areas as well. Setting things out like that will bring in other animals- cats we do not own nor have the funds to continuously feed given the already large number who know this as home- and many of which our cats are not friends with. If those strays don't eat it- our other cats would. We do not have 1 litterbox per cat either (that would be insane!!). Our scent, and our other cats scents- all of whom see him as family and who he sees as family- are ALL OVER this property and likely out about two or three houses in every direction- even places houses are not in. For the most part, the neighbors around here are nice to the cats that roam, but there are a few questionable ones that worry me as to how they would treat a cat wearing a collar because some are just mean towards anyone else and anyone elses animals. We also have coyotes, turkeys, and raccoons in the area along with people who don't watch nor leash their dogs like they are supposed to. We have a few really bad eggs too who think because these are dead end roads they can just fly as fast as they want on them in their cars and don't care what damage it does. These are why I am worried most about Sport. That and he is extremely friendly. He'll let ANYONE close who he thinks will pet and love on him and follow them wherever they go to get more. I don't want to believe someone hurt or took him, but at this point, its feeling like the only reason he would not have come home... because he *can't*. I have asked neighbors who are nice and willing to keep an eye out for him- but I do not have a printer to "print out fliers" and most of this neighborhood likely doesn't know how to run a computer- much less be on social media... the majority are around my dads age- mid 60s and up- and don't even know what "youtube" or "twitch" are and have no idea how to get onto FB without having someone help them. That means its mostly word of mouth and talking with the few who ae closer to my age or younger who also are not part of the "don't talk to us we don't know you" crowd...

I would put his litter box outside, under cover, along with some really smelly cat food and some clothes you wore recently to attract him. Keep an eye on it. Some people say not to put the box/food out because it might attract predators. I have known it to work. Go out late at night when it's quiet and call him softly. Make large, easily read flyers and post them around your neighborhood with the cat’s picture and your contact info. Post a lost ad on nextdoor.com. Ask your neighbors to check garages, sheds, under decks - anywhere a cat can hide and get shut in. Borrow a trap from a shelter or vet. Don’t give up. Good luck!

Make sure you have a Warm Cat Bin outside by the house or porch with his blanket, food like chicken and cat nip inside. keep the lights on all night long. Open a side door, or back door and put the smells, chicken pieces and cat nip, treats right inside the door. Do not yell for him. keep quiet and keep the treats hands when out looking. Notify the neighbors and give them your number. Cats sleep anywhere they find, when tired ..but will come out for Food. Good luck

We have walked the area around our home calling and looking for him- both alive or otherwise- more than once a day and several times in the last week. We call several times a day as well from where our porch is. We have several indoor/outdoor cats, he is one of our family in that aspect- and that means him finding the scent of home? It is not going to be difficult. He's also an amazing tracker- we have seen him track the mice he caught around our home. We live in a very country area for warren- surrounded quite quickly by small bits of forest and much larger ones on all directions. Yes- this is a 3 road dead end- so we literally have a lot of homes- but trees and wild grass and spots where its easy to vanish... except... he hates being alone. Like.. literally HATES being alone. He followed my daughters friend to his house across the street because he got picked up and petted for five minutes by him- so he clings whenever he thinks it will get him cuddles- THAT is what has me most afraid. If he was let outside, he rarely leaves the yard without some form of human interaction or violent wildlife to cause it- and with the latter it is usually "let me back in!!!" despite his larger size... unless the other kitties are with him. Then they ALL work together to chase off the threat from our yard and the nearby yard sized tree zone they play in- but he barely ever crosses the street- and never out of visual range of the house. I would print fliers, but I lack a printer.... and that has my heart sick as well- because it feels like there is that "one more thing" I could do if I had it.... My health prevents me from driving... I can't even walk very far from my home myself either.... SO I do everything within my ability to search.

Here are a few things you can try. Cats usually don’t go far. They just hide well. Cats are very active at dusk and dawn. So first of all you can go out and call for him. You can put his food/water, and lots of cat nip outside your house to help draw him back. Also, put your cat's bedding that has your cat's scent on it outside to attract your cat back to your home. Also putting your own unwashed clothes or bedding out . Cats run on scent and this is highly effective in luring your cat back home .PetMD backs this up, can help lure the cat back home, as it's a comfortable and familiar smell. Shake the treat/food container outside. Check garages, especially under porches and decks,dense bushes, etc. Get one of those strong flashlights they will catch a cat's reflective eyes two blocks away and save you tons of time!!! Do not leave the food out overnight as it will attract other animals that can scare the kitty away. Go to your neighbors and let them know your kitty got out and give them your contact info. Walk your neighborhood and talk to people as you can. Take a flyer TO your local vets office and shelter a face is better than a thousand words of description and check every couple of days in person if possible Sometimes it can take weeks or months to find your kitty. Also post with Pawboost and Sam the Parrot about your missing cat. Many times cats are found within a couple hundred feet of their homes. Post fliers around your neighborhood with your phone number that people can call day or night. And talk to your mail carrier. They see lots of animals. If they see a strange kitty around, they may recognize it as yours. Make sure you call local animal shelters, etc Best time to look is between 1-6AM Get a humane trap ASAP! This it's the best chance at retrieving your cat. Line it with newspaper. The ONLY food you leave out should be in that trap. Do not leave the trap set for long periods of time unattended, especially overnight. The most importantly do not give up hope! Open your garage door a little. Don’t put the litter box out. 🙏🏻Also take a flashlight out at night and look in and under things to see if you can see the kitty’s eyes.
