Beau is home safe. Thank you for all the tips and tricks. As soon as it became dark and the noise down, he came through the garage door we left cracked with the light on and our clothing out!!

PLEASE READ!! I SWEAR BY THIS!! They don't go far. Get a humane trap ASAP. I've used it to catch 4 of my own. Worked every time. 3 days, 5 days, over a week and the longest was 5 weeks!! They don't go far. Don't listen to anyone who says put food out. They eat it when no one is around and leave. I bait it with mackerel, changing it out daily. Caught at night each time. Make the trap the only option for food. Put the trap by the front door or on your porch. Tractor Supply has good prices on traps, and rescue groups often rent them out. I've also caught about 20 strays I wanted to fix. Very effective. Never give up.

Post on Pawboost and on Nextdoor and on Petco Love Lost. Put up colorful signs and hand out fliers in 10 house radius around you. Check with area shelters daily and go there in person too for walk throughs. Call company where you registered the microchip and verify info is active.

Put out some worn clothing on your porch. Notify all your neighbors he is missing and ask them to check under their decks, house and in their garage and any outbuildings they might have. Put up flyers with his picture and your phone number around your neighborhood. Flyers work. Lots of people have found their cats because neighbors saw their flyers. You might also want to go out and look after dark with a flashlight and softly call his name. They typically don’t stray too far from home. Litter boxes outside can attract strays and coyotes. Be cautious of any drone or pet locator companies unless you personally know someone that has used them. They prey on people with missing pets for money.
