SAFE SCENT STATIONS: Since Wethersfield Ave is a busy, high-traffic street, DO NOT put scent items directly on the main road. Instead, place familiar unwashed clothing or her bed in quiet, safe locations nearby—such as a backyard, a quiet side street off Wethersfield Ave, or on the porch/doorstep of the home. This helps attract her away from traffic rather than toward it. • DISTRIBUTE NEON SIGNS IMMEDIATELY: High visibility is crucial near busy roads. Hang bright neon poster boards at nearby intersections and quieter side streets with "LOST BULLDOG", her photo, and a contact phone number in large black marker. • VISITATION TO SHELTERS: Visit IN PERSON both Hartford Animal Control and neighboring facilities (like Wethersfield Animal Control). Stray holds move fast, and in busy urban areas, found dogs are often brought in quickly. • ALERT LOCAL VETS & RESCUES: Call nearby clinics and emergency vet hospitals. If someone secured her safely off the busy street, they likely brought her to a local vet to check for a microchip. • IF SPOTTED, DO NOT CHASE: In a busy area, chasing a scared dog can panic her into running into traffic. Ask searchers to crouch low, avoid eye contact, speak softly, and lure her with strong-smelling food (like hot dogs or cheese). • TARGET LOCAL WORKERS: Hand flyers directly to mail carriers, delivery drivers, and bus/transit drivers who cover the Wethersfield Ave corridor daily, as they have the best eyes on the street. • SEARCH DURING QUIET HOURS: Search nearby side streets, alleys, open garages, and under porches during low-traffic hours (early morning at dawn or late evening) when traffic calms down and she is more likely to move safely.
