You can still hold until owner is found, but that is generally the 1st place an owner will call looking for their lost pet. ✳️ Please have the dog scanned for a chip. This can be done for free at the police station, animal control or vet. ✳️ Please post on Lost Dogs Illinois by registering the dog as found at Petfbi(dot)org You will receive two free flyers to print and post in your neighborhood as well as tips and best practices on how to recover your lost dog.
