Is she afraid if other dogs. Sometimes if another person with a friendly dog. ...if they see and just sit on the grass can get her over to them if they turn their back m..she might come over. ..their I'd a dog lady at northeast animal shelter that does doggy dete tove work ..know s a goy with a drone ...google them they are in Salem mass a good place they might be able to direct u to the right people who can help....there are also have a heart dog traps but they can explain it more u rent them or a dog officer can help u out

Dog Recovery Blueprint Missing Dogs Massachusetts supporting Rhode Island While recovering a lost dog is not a science – there are proven steps that you can take to help ensure a timely recovery. Be SURE to follow these simple steps to help bring your dog home. What To Do First * Immediately contact your local Animal * Control Officer and Police Department to report your dog as missing. If your dog went missing from a location near a town or city border, be sure to contact officials in nearby towns as well. As time passes, if your dog has not been found, expand your contacts to towns/cities in a 25 mile radius. Please remember that your local Animal Control Officer is a resource and ally who will be of great assistance in bringing your lost dog home.� * Place a familiar scent article (dog bed, worn t-shirt, etc.) at the location where your dog went missing. Leave a bowl of strong-smelling food at the location as well. We suggest wet dog food as it has a stronger scent then dry. If your dog is crate trained, leaving his/her open crate and bedding is advised.� * Alert neighbors and friends via telephone, social media and in person. Search Facebook for missing pet pages in your area.� * Place a post on www.nextdoor.com, as it tends to reach a different audience than Facebook (be sure to upload a clear/current photo). Include your cell phone number to make contact as easy as possible.� * Notify your dog’s microchip company so that they may tag your dog’s chip as “missing”. Also confirm that registration information is accurate and up to date. * Hang flyers at and around the location where your dog went missing. Flyers should be simple, with few words, using very large font so that they are visible from a passing vehicle. Simple flyers should contain only a title, a large photo and a large phone number.They should be printed in black & white on neon colored paper (can be printed in color if you choose), placed in page protectors with the opening at the bottom. They must be angled toward passing vehicles. Simple flyers must be visible and legible from a distance. Bring a flyer in PERSON to all local shelters, humane societies & vet veterinary practices. Ask to see all “found’ dogs that are on the premises. The shelter’s interpretation of breed/breeds may be very different than your own. IMPORTANT - Continue to check back in person with each location periodically. On occasion, information on found dogs held at the shelters slips through the cracks. * **We cannot stress this enough: Printing & hanging up Lost Dog flyers is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO to get your dog home!! Posting on social media alone is not enough; 70% of lost dogs come home because someone drove or walked by a flyer, and flyers for your dog should go up ASAP.** Have family, friends, and neighbors help you print and hang flyers all around the area where your dog was last seen. Keep the flyer simple with Lost Dog and phone number. ��-We advise all owners to print 200 copies to start. You can print out one flyer at home and take it to your local Staples or other copy shop. Ask to have black & white copies printed onto bright, neon-colored paper (whatever color the image shows up best on). Make sure to "FIT to PAGE" when printing to ensure the size is not reduced. �-Put the flyers in Ziploc bags or plastic sheet protectors (with the opening at the bottom) to make sure they will stay up and readable, even in bad weather.��-Hang the simple flyers at drivers' eye level on all surrounding streets and at main intersections. Using a staple gun on telephone poles tends to work best (be sure to staple each corner). In addition, bring copies to all local businesses, especially gas stations, convenience stores, coffee shops, grocery stores, liquor stores, public libraries, and any other places that get a lot of foot traffic. Ask for permission to tape a copy up in the main window, front door, and/or checkout area, where it will be most visible. And be sure to also give copies to the regular mail delivery person(s) in the neighborhood where your dog was last seen, as well as all UPS, FedEx, and food delivery drivers with regular routes in the area.��-If you haven't received any calls after hanging up/handing out your first 200 flyers, don't be discouraged; this dog may have traveled out of the immediate vicinity. Continue to flyer, gradually expanding the area you cover. * NOTE: While it's great to provide general search updates on social media, we caution owners NOT to post anywhere - not even on their own pages - revealing any specific address or landmark where their dog has been seen. Unfortunately, experience has shown that well-meaning people will try to "help" by going to that location to search....but the more people walking around and calling out for your dog, the more likely the already scared, confused dog will be to go back on the run, possibly fleeing the area completely (and undoing all the progress you've made in the search). With that in mind: #1. Keep details about any sightings of your dog within a very small, trusted group. #2. Ask that no one go out searching for your dog without checking with you first. #3. Whenever someone offers to help you with the search, ask them to please instead assist you by printing and hanging up/handing out more of your dog's flyers throughout the area. * Post on www.nextdoor . Most lost dogs go into a panicked state called survival mode/flight mode. Your dog being newly adopted is most likely in survival mode. This is biological and nothing that anyone can control. They are actively avoiding anything deemed a possible threat and that includes humans who are calling out for them or approaching. There are very specific protocols to have the best chance at a safe recovery. So the best thing to do is have someone with this knowledge walk you through what you should be doing. Missing Dogs Massachusetts is an all volunteer free service and will assist you on the steps to take.
